Overnight flight to Rome Airport in Italy.

Arrive at Rome Airport and check into our hotel.  Dinner and overnight in Rome.

Spend the day touring ancient Rome.  Visit the Colosseum, symbol of the Roman Empire, and the Roman Forum, once the center of political, religious and social life.  Visit the Mamertine Prison, the most ancient prison in Rome.  Dinner and overnight in Rome.

Enjoy a full-day excursion to ancient Pompeii, including a guided tour of the archaeological site, where the ruins perfectly preserve the daily life of a Roman city destroyed by the eruption of Mount Vesuvius in 79 A.D.  Dinner and overnight in Rome.

In the morning, visit the Basilica of St. Paul Outside the Walls, one of the four major basilicas of Rome.  Then spend the afternoon on a guided visit of the Vatican Museums, including the Sistine Chapel with Michelangelo’s famous frescoes, and St. Peter’s Basilica, the largest church in the world.  Dinner and overnight in Rome.

In the morning, take a guided walking tour of Baroque Rome, including the Pantheon, Trevi Fountain, Piazza Navona and other famous squares and fountains.  In the afternoon, enjoy free time for shopping or additional touring.  Dinner and overnight in Rome.
